I was born and educated in Durban, South Africa. I obtained a BA (English and Psychology) from the University of Natal, Durban and a BA(Hons) Psych from UNISA.
In 1986 I joined the Hotel and Catering Industry Training Council (now the Tourism and Hospitality SETA) and was part of the process of privatising the training activities of the South African Tourism Board.
In 1989 I joined the Training Department of the Southern Sun Group, and was appointed Training Manager Holiday Inn in 1990 with training responsibilities for 23 hotels countrywide. I was appointed Group Training Manager in 1991, and my responsibilities were expanded to include the Southern Sun Hotels. My specialities included management and leadership development, as well as organisational development. I was involved in the rebranding of 13 Southern Sun and Holiday Inn hotels as Holiday Inn Garden Courts up until 1992.
In 1992, I left Southern Sun to start my own training consultancy and specialised in the provision of the pre-opening training for new hotels. This involved management and skills training, as well as strategic planning on many of these projects. I have been involved in the opening of more than 30 hotels in Southern Africa. I then became increasingly involved in materials development as the hospitality industry geared itself up in terms of the National Qualifications framework.
In 2001, my work began to broaden to include coaching. I formed C‑Business Coaching Solutions with a colleague in January 2002 and continued this work until June 2008.
In June 2008, I formed Leadership Solutions.
My interests include strategic leadership, organisational and individual performance and the development of leadership. My passion is empowering clients to achieve what they had previously believed was impossible.
I have recorded more than 8000 hours of coaching with executives and senior managers and teams. I have a sound understanding of business and strategy across a broad range of industries including logistics, heavy commercial vehicles, passenger cars, manufacturing, engineering and retail.
I have also taken more than 500 new managers through an exciting accelerated development programme that builds knowledge, skill and impact through a combination of group action learning and coaching. She has also launched an exciting and practical online course called "Help! I'm a New Manager" which takes first time and experienced managers through a 5 week programme that sets them up for success with their new team.
One of my core values is contribution, and I have been involved in COMENSA (Coaches and Mentors of South Africa) for many years. I have served as Chapter Chairperson in Kzn, National President, Chairperson of the COMENSA Ethics Portfolio Committee, and as Company Secretary.
My qualifications and licenses include a Diploma in Practitioner Coaching; the Enneagram Personality Assessment, and the Emotional and Social Intelligence Inventory. I am a credentialed Master Coach with COMENSA.
My Vision is:
To work with high-achieving individuals and organisations in the creation of a culture of strategic leadership. I dream of working with people and organisations that are willing to put in the hard work that it takes to really shoot the lights out and achieve success that they may only have dreamt of.
My Mission is:
My mission in life is to enable everyone I come into contact with to realise that they are capable of more than they ever dreamed. That is why I get up every morning.
What I value above all:
